Anti-immigration

Those charming little neo-nazis chose Martin Luther King day to have an anti-immigration protest in downtown Athens. As usual, it all turned ugly and violent when the so-called “anarchists” engaged in running battles with them.

Anyone reading the reports of the clashes is not going to find out anything about what the issues are. The voices of reasonable people will not be heard. All we are left with is the impression that people who oppose the extreme right wing are violent thugs who like nothing better than to fight in the streets.

We are not being represented here. Our protest should be with education, thought and positive action. A large peaceful demonstration against the few extremists would have sent the right message.

Very sad for many different reasons.
