The funny (or saddening, depending on how you see it) thing is, as heliotypon (in Greek) notices, that even though an ancient Greek word still exists in modern Greek vocabulary for “sex-trafficking”, (μαστροπεία -> mastropeia,) the term that Greek authorities tend to use for some reason is “emporium of white flesh”, which is a contemptible choice for a number of reasons, the most important of which being that it probably dates back from the times when “emporium of black flesh” was not a crime, so a distinction needed to be somehow made.

It is happening right here in Canada as well. I was shocked to read last week that right here in Toronto young girls are being kidnapped at bus stations and forced into prostitution. The police broke up a ring and rescued about 10 teens. Some day I will tell you how I almost ended up like at at age 16 in Germany…ciao
