End of Year Meme

I haven’t done a meme for a while so here is an end of year one via EllasDevil. I know it’s the beginning of the year now but I was otherwise occupied back then !

What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
Won a blogging prize ! Little DD is the newest member of my family.

Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions and will you make any for 2008?
I never make resolutions because I know I wouldn’t keep them.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes. A month ago.

Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully no but a close friend lost her father. Heartbreaking.

What countries did you visit in 2007?
England and Wales

What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
A job I liked or a way to make money through what I do

What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory and why?
November 6th. My birthday party. My balcony is overflowing with the plants I was given (waiting for the roof garden!). Every time I look at them I am reminded of my wonderful friends.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Building some great community connections and not getting derailed by pointless arguments.

What was your biggest failure?
I haven’t started on my book. I am sure it’s there but haven’t taken the plunge…yet.

Did you suffer injury or illness?
Fortunately no. The kid broke his leg a couple of weeks ago but he’s healing well.

What was the best thing you bought?
I bought a beautiful jasmine with two trunks twisted around each other for my good friend and it’s a joy to see it when I visit her house.

Whose behavior merited celebration?
One of my sisters whose courage, warmth and generosity in the face of a personal crisis is an inspiration

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed
Most of our leaders.

Where did most of your money go?
On rent and bills as usual.

What did you get really really really excited about?
Contributing to several pieces of real art. One in a direct way and a couple of pieces I was included in by the makers. That is really something special.

What song will always remind you of 2007?
It’s a real shame that I can’t tell you publicly. If any of my friends are interested, email me and I’ll let you know!

Quietly at home with the kid and the love of my life and then noisily at a party with lots of friends.

No. Just carried on loving

What was your favorite TV program?
On Greek TV ? You must be joking! There have been some great documentaries on Vouli though.

Do you hate anyone now who you didn’t hate last year?
No.

What was the best book you read?
Life of Pi by Yann Martel

What was your greatest musical discovery?
This year? Nothing. A disappointing year as far as music goes…

What was your favorite movie of this year?
Sadly, we didn’t go to the cinema at all this year.

What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I had chocolate for breakfast and I turned 43.

What one thing would have made 2007 more satisfying?
World peace ?!!!

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
People have a personal fashion concept?

What kept you sane?
Sanity is overated

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
None…no really, none.

What political issue stirred you the most?
The continuing stupidness of world leaders

Who do you miss?
A friend who I have somehow lost…

Who was the best new person you met?
Someone I have “met” through blogging who I hope to really meet very soon. We actually have a mutual friend in real life!
