How much do you know about the steps you can take to live a greener life? About my Planet is a website full of information to help you make a significantly lesser negative impact on the world. The site features a Daily Green Tip with topics like turning down your thermostat, environmental charity to “green sleep”.

The hot topic at the moment is Solar Power. I had no idea that you can buy solar powered wireless outdoor speakers that are compatible with all audio devices that require speakers (they would be great for my planned roof garden!). I also didn’t know that the first solar powered billboards are being used in some cities in the US. I actually think billboards could be dispensed with altogether but if advertisers insist we should have them, it would be better if they were green.

The website also includes a blog, forums and links to other environmentally friendly sites. One feature I really liked was the Grow section where you can submit your own articles or any green news you come across on the internet. You have to register (free) to do that but it only takes a minute.

Overall, the site is well-presented, has daily updates, has a lively community feel and is full of useful information.
