Say It Ain’t So Feminism

This is so brilliant that it almost makes getting stupid comments on my blog worth it. What an honour ! Two of my “guests” get a heads up here!

Thank you Sudy. I laughed so much I had tears running down my face. And then my head hit the keyboard because I realised that I had observed or been involved in ALL these blog wars. But how could I stay depressed when this is so funny…

Looking forward to more from the brilliant Sudy in the near future.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t see this blog as a feminist blog. I see this blog as being a fair and decent blog, and not leaning towards any one extremity (i.e., feminism, racism, nationalism etc.)

    This is a feminist blog.
Feminist blogs are usually “fair and decent and not leaning towards any one extremity”

Maybe more later when I have more time…

DD, if I may ask. Do you believe men and women are biologically equal? Following on from this, wouldn’t you say it’s pretty obvious biology plays a role in how well we can do something, say, being an front line infantryman for example.

Diva, I have to admit I don’t know much about feminism so maybe you could explain but many of the ones who proclaim to be feminists I’ve seen on different blogs seem to be mean and angry and upset with men. Maybe this is just the extreme ones?

So, if you are a feminist, I guess that means they are ok then!

But, please explain what exactly is a feminist since I’ve always assumed it was some sort of extreme view like I said (racism, nationalism, etc).

Sporty, no, feminism does not mean having extreme views or being anti-men. Feminism is

the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men

Yes, feminists can be angry and upset about the inequalities we experience. This can make some men feel uncomfortable because (perhaps) it is threatening to their position.

Here is a gentle 101 on what feminism is and is not from The Happy Feminist
