The saga continues…

Yesterday was the day we were to have our appointment to connect our phone (we’ve waited 6 weeks for this). They were supposed to be at the house between 10am and 1.30pm but no-one showed up. Nice long working hours eh? No wonder they can’t get anything done. Anyway, we called and they said that they might be working up until 2pm (or 2.30pm according to someone else). So at three I decided that they weren’t coming and we called the company. Bad luck! You can only call until 2pm.

La la la la la la la.
I’ve heard so many of these stories I actually took it quite well… after all we have been disconnected for so long now what’s another day right? Wrong! The love of my life called them this morning to find out what happened. They insisted they came to our house and no-one was there. So LOML called me back to check and see if the bell was working! Needless to say it was. Another call to them reveals that they went to the WRONG ADDRESS and instead of calling one of the two mobile numbers they have, they went home!

Deep Breath.
So will they be able to come today seeing as it was their mistake? Eh…no…it takes 3 working days to put the right address into the computer and then we have to make another appointment! We are keeping everything crossed that we won’t be waiting for 6 more weeks for that!

I don’t think we are going to be able to pay our mobile phone bills this month. We have made only essential calls on them but 6 weeks is going to take its toll on our pockets.

Here’s a joke… Do you think I can get some compensation from OTE (the phone company) for all this time without service?
No! We will be paying them for the pleasure!
Hilarious, don’t you think?

Before anyone bursts a blood vessel over my anti-Greek story above and how it reinforces how much I hate Greece and Greeks and that I should go home, here’s a friends recent story from the States. She was sharing a house with another women and they had separate phones in their bedrooms. When my friend decided to move into her own place, she took her number with her with little difficulty. Her friend decided to move into the bigger bedroom and wanted to transfer her number there. It took her three months! To move a phone number to the next room in the same house!

I will be back to serious blogging as soon as I get a connection. It might be a bit of a wait still…
At least I am hanging on to my sense of humor.

JUST!
Take care

  1. I think you CAN get compensation and even more

EETT is the competent authority here

Oooh! Anti-Greek comment! Geddout! Geddout! Geddout! Er… this is part of our culture so er… don’t you forget it lady! OK? Yeah…

But in all seriousness, I would register a complaint with OTE and if they don’t follow it up then obviously go to EETT.

Thanks you two. I will definitely pursue that. Can you tell me what EETT is and how to contact them? I never realised there was a body responsible for this sort of thing. Thanks!
