Hellenic Nationalist came to my site and left something about how Americans are psychologically disturbed and the world should avoid them. He went silent when I posted his comment, then pointed out that he lives in New York.

I did get a site counter eventually for mine. It basically tells you information on people dropping by including the IP information. I write about a local law enforcement agency and city government so quite a few of my visitors are from the city’s network system. That’s surprising considering that the department investigated employees who were going to my site from work and possibly posting there.

I have this one guy who visits and who’s a retired law enforcement officer out of state and he’s stopped using his real name and posts these silly comments anonymously and I just respond and then close them by telling him that I hope he enjoys his retirement. That usually quiets him for a while.

Another retired officer apparently discovered on my site that his application for a position was denied an interview by a specific city official and he sent off a rather irate email to that elected official who provided a copy to me.

When I get hateful comments they are often from the same IP. It’s usually just one guy who wants to seem like he’s four or five. It’s one of the techniques they use to bully people into silence and to get the rest of the mob to agree with them. It’s bullshit and they need to be called out on it.
