Thinking Blogger

On a completely different note to the last post…

Thank you so much, Sokari, for this Thinking Blogger award. I am very proud of this one.

The rules:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote ([There is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog).

It is extremely difficult to pick just five but here are my choices in no particular order...

Quaker Dave for both Quaker Agitator and Daily Darfur. One of the most committed and consistant bloggers I know, with a passion for justice that I completely admire.

Bint Alshamsa for My Private Casbah. She is willing to challenge anyone on the issues that she is passionate about. And she challenges everyone on their idea of what life and living with cancer means. Her strength, intelligence and humour are inspiring.

Laurelin for Laurelin in the Rain. She is a great writer, strong and committed but unafraid to write about her own weaknesses and questions. Laurelin has helped me so much with her writing about blog moderation, trolls and freedom of speech.

Kevin for Slant Truth. An ally, friend and inspiration. He writes with intelligence, passion and at times with a rage that jumps out of the screen and forces you to take action.

[Kevin is going through an incredibily difficult time at the moment. His brother is missing. If you live on the on the West coast of the US, please take a look at his post in case you have any information about Michael Patrick Vaughn]

Melusina for Mel’s Diner. As many of you who read this blog know, I blame her for all this ;) Her writing is powerful, personal and many times, hilarious. Over the past two years (has it been that long?), we have disagreed on some issues but always with a respect and friendship that I truly value. Mel has always been one of the first to defend me during some very hard times and for that too, I am moved. Thank you so much.

I’m so with you on QuakerDave. Passion is what he lives, writes, and blogs. I’ll check out your other prize winners…they’re all new to me (oh goody, new blogs!)

I’m honored DeviousDiva, but it really isn’t fair because you would be first on my list of five! Are you allowed to name who already did it? =)
