Koufax Awards
Wow. A good blogging day.
The Roma series has been nominated for a Koufax Award in the Best Series category. What is so flattering about this nomination is that I am in some amazing company including my good friends Kevin at Slant Truth and Brownfemipower at Women of Color. Many of the other nominees are huge in the blog world so I feel a great sense of achievement even if I don’t make it to the finalists. My hope is that this will mean more people will read the series and that it raises some awareness of the plight of the Roma communities here and in the rest of Europe.
A heartfelt thank you to whoever nominated me.
UPDATE: Also the blog is nominated for Best Consonant Level blog (whatever that means!). Doubly good blogging day.
UPDATE 2: Unbelievably, I’ve also been nominated for Best Single Issue blog ! I don’t know what to say. Thank you.

Congrats! The Roma Series is definitely one that should be heard across the internet. It is about time you get an award for it! Ok, yes I’m thinking positive but I think I should win.
Thank you all. Whether I win or not is fine (it would be great to win, don’t get me wrong!). Being nominated is such a thrill and it encourages me to write more. You know how confidence can slide from time to time ? This helps me to continue bashing away at it.
I just hope that this issue gets more attention because there is barely anything written about the Roma anywhere in the Blogworld. So thanks for the
