2000 Bloggers Update
Published by deviousdiva February 6th, 2007 in Blogging. So 2000 bloggers decided to sign-up for a fun project…. 2000 blogs out of something like 60 million. There was a collage of diverse faces and a link to their blog. But then the big boys got all nervous that their technorati ranking being in jeopardy and they’ve put a stop to it.
Who knew that blog ranking was that important ? The big guns did that’s for sure. I haven’t seen any change in people that come here and read and comment, so I asked myself, what is all this about? I’m not taking anything away from the A listers or the top 100 lister ?
Then it hit me. Of course. How naive. Blogging is NOT about writing about issues you care about or because you have something to say or because you want to write down your thoughts. NO. It’s about money, people.

The arguement seems to be breaking down into 2 simple camps…those who blog for the hopes of internet celebrity and status vs. the people who do it for fun and debate.
yet we’re link whores….funny isn’t it?
I’ve been called all sorts of things but being called a “link whore” !!? What’s that about ? Because I thought it would be fun to take part! Are we taking something away from them ? Sad really…
Anyway, hello and welcome, ellamichelle.

“Welcome to the desert of the real world.”, as Morpheus from the Matrix would put it…
Sad.
jerks. thanks for writing about real stuff.
in their egotistical faces.
The thought of DeviousDiva doing all this for the fame and the money… that’s really ridiculous.
Hey Betabug, didn’t you know this was my evil plan all along… to get filthy rich and famous and then take over the world ? lol
By pure dumb, naive circumstances, and without even signing up for 2000 Bloggers, my mug sits on the first row, 7th to the right of the question mark. I walked around with quite the swollen head at such a flattering placement. I wasn’t familiar with the term “link farming” nor did I really understand the mysteries of blog ranking until the “horrors” of such evil surfaced. Slap me upside the head if I strive to be one of those A-list/rank-a-phobic bloggers. BTW, getting filthy rich and famous and taking over the world is a brilliant idea deviousdiva. Wish I would have thought of it first!
What Does anyone know why we put so much emphasis on the Technorati ranking system in the first place.
Hi Larry and Dawud Miracle. I’ll just have to copyright that idea of taking over the world otherwise people might beat me to it… oh no! The Brain already beat me to it ! Oh well…
