Nazi Meeting
Published by deviousdiva January 28th, 2007 in Neo-nazi.I didn’t know that the nazis were having another cosy get-together in Athens this weekend. As much as I hate the idea that a bunch of right-wing extremists are having this meeting, I wish this didn’t happen. Because then they are able to argue that we (the lefties) are as bad as they are. What can I say ?
I always feel horribly uncomfortable knowing these guys are in town. Call me paranoid if you like but let’s face it, this bunch do not want people like me around. Here in Athens or in Europe or anywhere. They would like to deport us, get rid of us and our families, erase our histories, and so on.
This news did not make my day.

For various reasons you know I ain’t cosy with the nazis. But I’d be more afraid today, (that is declared Day of Remembrance of the Shoah in Greece and EU alike), I’d be more afraid of attacks to jewish monuments from left wing rallies and not right wing ones.
That indeed is a sign of the times.
I hear ya DD. Still, my “libertarian” self feels like they should be able to meet and have free speech, as long as they don’t cause violence. Well, I think we’ve gone the rounds with this discussion before.
It doesn’t mean I like the fact that they exist in the first place, that’s for sure.
Just as long as you remember there are plenty of us who WANT to have “people like you” around.

The only way you can get rid of nazis is to let them speak. What they say is so stupid that no person who values him/herself can stand hearing it for more than two seconds.
So let everybody speak. In the end the best ideas are the ones that come to surface.
Ah well, anonymous. I know there are a FEW people who think like you but guess what ? I’m not going anywhere for the time being.
