Missing Children

International experts will begin arriving in Greece in November to help authorities develop a rapid-reaction system to trace missing children, sources told Kathimerini yesterday.

Representatives from European police forces and experts from the USA are due to visit Greece as authorities here want police, prosecutors and volunteers to work together to ensure that photographs of missing children are posted at airports, bus stations and ports immediately after their disappearance.

The possibility of informing the public via text messages or electronic displays on roads and highways is also being considered. Greece has already begun designing a website to help provide information about missing children based on that of the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children (www.icmec.org).

Countries which employ these sort of tactics have a success rate of up to 95 percent in locating missing children, sources said

it is of course understood that if the missing children are Roma who vanished while exploited in street lights, they stand no chance of being included in the search, as we know well from the case of the 502 Albanian Roma children who vanished most for good

Thank you Panayote for reminding me.
This situation is ongoing and nothing is being done as far as I know. I cannot find my post about the missing children but I will search for it tomorrow.
