We all know which blogs dominate the internet and they are not the ones featured in my blogroll. There are some amazing people out there are trying to redress that imbalance. They are organising and networking and I am very proud to be communicating with these inspiring bloggers.
As a result of the Women of Color Bloggers Caucus Meeting at the 2006 Allied Media Conference,  Tint magazine is starting a new feature called  “Sisters Speak: Women of Color Bloggers” featuring live content from blogs that people do not get to hear about very much, if at all. I am honoured to have been asked to participate.
Also, take a look at Taking Place : Ideas for the Masses which features some of my favorite bloggers all in one place. It is vitally important that we support these voices because the blogworld is going very much the way of the real world. With a few very loud, dominating voices being heard and the rest being sidelined. I would hate to see this “new media” going the way of the mainstream with wall-to-wall Fox “news” and meaningless gossip.
More on this later…
