BLOG AGAINST SEXISM
Published by deviousdiva March 7th, 2006 in Personal.Tomorrow, March 8th, is International Women’s Day and to celebrate our day, vegankid has organised Blog against Sexism day.
While those that write about sexism on a regular basis are gladly asked to join in, we enourage those that never or rarely talk about this important topic to join in. There are no guidelines. All that is asked is that you write at least a little something against sexism. We especially encourage men to challenge themselves and write about the topic.
I will be writing something, hopefully and will post tomorrow. I hope you will all do the same. Blogging is not going to rid the world of racism or sexism or any other isms, but the voices are getting louder and inspiring people to join together and take action. And that has got to be a good thing.

Happy Women\’s Day!
\”Women\” by Alice Walker
They wre women then
My mama\’s generation
Husky of voice-Stout of
Step
With fists as well as
Hands
How they battered down
Doors
And ironed
Starched white
Shirts
How they led
Armies
Headragged Generals
Across mined
Fields
Boody-trapped
Ditches
To discover books
Desks
A place for us
How they knew what we
Must Know
Without knowing a page
Of it
Themselves.
Thank you Renegade Eye and right back at you.
Hi Sha, thank you for sharing this poem. It’s beautiful and reminds me of just how important it is that we educate ourselves and speak out and continue the fight of the women who came before us.
You haven’t got a pingback option, so here is my take on the matter.
Hi Loxias, isn’t trackback the same as ping back? Not sure. I have trackback at the bottom of each post. I will be over to your post later.
Er, yes, sorry, I was absent-minded.
